Cosmocaixa is a modern science museum, recently
renovated, situated on the side of the Collserola range. It has
a car park with the corresponding indicated reserved places.
The building is made up of six underground floors that are connected
by sets of sufficiently spacious lifts, escalators and routes
by ramps with gradients that vary between 8-16%. There is a panoramic
ramp in the form of a spiral that connects the five floors of
the museum, with a 10% gradient and without intermediary level
sections. For wheelchair users access to the different rooms
is preferable by lift.
There are stairs at the main entrance of the Planetarium. People
in wheelchairs must enter by the back part and watch from the
last row, since it is stepped, and their companions will sit
in the row in front. The Clik and Flash and Planetari Bombolla
rooms (Bubble Planet, for children aged 3 to 7) have a level
ground access; in contrast, the Auditorium and the Àgora
Room are stepped, and people in wheelchairs must sit in the first
or last row, since there are two entrances. It is recommendable
to check the opening times, since not all the spaces are open
at the same time.
There are several sets of toilet facilities, with their corresponding
correctly adapted booth. The museum also has a shop, situated
on level ground, and a cafeteria, also with a level ground entrance.
The restaurant can be reached by an alternative ramp with an
8% gradient.
