The Botanical gardens are situated on the side
of the Montjuïc mountain, behind the Olympic stadium, and
occupy 14 hectares of land. Here there are plant species from
the regions of the world with a Mediterranean climate, as well
as the sub-tropical plant life of the Canary Islands.
The entrance is via a 10% gradient ramp, due to its location
on the mountainside. There are six reserved parking spaces, correctly
indicated. It is advisable to make the visit accompanied due
to the steep slopes.
The routes make long tours in a zigzag. The paths are combined
with stairways, so we recommend using the wider paths, which
are the ones that do end in stairs. People with limited mobility
also have the option of using an electric motorbike. In the main
building there is a correctly adapted toilet facility for each
sex.
There is an audio guide service, free for visually-impaired persons
and a price of 1 € for people without visual difficulties.

Situated inside the gardens created for the Universal
exhibition of 1929, in a pretty corner is the Permanent Memorial
to Victims of AIDS. This monument consists of an olive tree alongside
a rock, universal symbols of peace and eternity. The monument
is reached via a series of San Vicente stone slabs, on which
are inscribed verses by the Catalan poet Miquel Martí i
Pol as a lasting reminder of all the victims of AIDS. It is a
very pleasant gardened area for remembering and meditating.
Access is on level ground. There are several steps to reach the
central area. The accessible route is the right-hand path, from
the main entrance.
JARDINS
DE JOAN BROSSA
Pl. de la Sardana s/n
Bus 193
Situated at the top of the Montjuïc mountain,
they occupy the land where the old amusement park once stood
and today its 5 hectares are dedicated to relaxing and strolling.
There are two places in the car park for wheelchair users.
There are different routes by stairs and ramps which, due to
its situation on the mountainside, are very steep. To discover
the gardens it is therefore essential to have the assistance
of someone. Accessibility of the routes is currently being improved.
In the main entrance of the gardens is a correctly adapted toilet,
exclusively for wheelchair users and which is locked (you must
ask the guard for the key).
