The Picornell pools were opened in 1970 and totally
remodelled for the 1992 Olympic Games and Paralympics, which
means they are fully accessible, both in terms of the terracing,
by ramps, and the changing rooms, entrance gates and routes.
There are two 50-meter pools, one indoor and one outdoor, which
have cranes for entering and leaving the water. Both pools are
connected to each other via an indoor ramp.
The installations also have a lift that connects all the floors.
At the top and bottom level there are special areas for wheelchair
users. There are correctly adapted toilet facilities all over
the complex as well as in the changing rooms.
