The area of Les Corts is situated in the higher part of Barcelona. It has wide avenues, such as Avinguda Diagonal, , one of the major roads in the city, crossing it in the way its name indicates. On either side of this wide thoroughfare is the city’s main university campus.

Les Corts is also a residential and business area, where there are large shopping centres such as El Corte Inglés and L’Illa Diagonal. The northern part is one of the most luxurious in the city, clearly reflected in the facilities (sports centres, hotels, etc.).
